We smashed it! The sound of cheering is still ringing in my ears. It was a memorable night at The Cockpit (Marylebone) in London recently. Four break-out acts including myself presented a cascade of musical delights celebrating the best in songwriting. We called the event SONG FOUNDATION. By the end everybody in the wildly excited audience was up on their feet wearing their best dancing shoes and showing off their coolest moves.
I kicked things off with a cheery little introduction which raised a few smiles.
I then sang a short set of my original material which seemed to stimulate many emotions, both happy, exuberant and poignant including the autobiographical “CRAZY BOY”.
Two super acts called “AGES” and “ACOUSTIC NOTATION” followed me with some classy versions of well-loved contemporary songs. This left the stage ready to welcome “THE SOUL CONNECTION”, a ten-piece outfit who perform a whole array of iconic numbers by the likes of Otis Redding, Etta James, Wilson Pickett and the Tamla-Motown stable. We lifter the roof that night.
