INTRODUCTION
Over many years I have been lucky enough to travel to many beautiful and exotic places. Also I have had a chequered career with varied experiences. This has led to a rather strange assemblage of stuff knocking around inside my head. I thought I might share some of this chaos with you in the form of a blog. Each essay will be augmented by a set of photos which has been a keen interest of mine since 1987 when I went on a wonderful trek to Nepal.
Three days before I left on that memorable trip I had a brainwave – “I will take up photography”. I had never been remotely interested before. Somehow the interest was hatched in my brain by some subconscious process. As Fate would have it a friend in my Derbyshire village happened to be a professional mountaineer and photographer. He told me what equipment I needed and I immendiately went out and purchased my first camera.
A question emerged in my mind, “Will I know what photos to take…? I needn’t have worried, I took to it like a duck to water and in no time went from being not-even-a-beginner to being a semi-pro with exhibitions both here and abroad. Now I have thousands of images. I have made a selection of “Faves” and I am sharing a few of those with you now.
